With today’s news about the EU from StarWars.com, it was also announced that the first novel to be set in the new Star Wars cannon going forward will be based off of Star Wars Rebels. Well now we have a title for that novel, as well as an image of the cover.
The book will be titled “Star Wars: A New Dawn,” and will be written by John Jackson Miller, with input from Star Wars Rebels executive producers Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman. Star Wars: A New Dawn will be a prequel to the series, and is said to give “insight into a key character’s backstory.” Going by the cover, it’s probably safe to say that “key character” will be either Kanan or Hera.
“Star Wars: A New Dawn” is scheduled to be released on September 2nd of this year, and is a book to definitely be excited about. Not only will it be a great lead in to the series, but it’s the first in a new era of Star Wars novels, and is being written by John Jackson Miller, who did a great job with the “Kenobi” novel from last year.
