New Star Wars Rebels Clip From WonderCon!

A new clip from Star Wars Rebels was shown at the behind the Scenes panel at Wondercon, and now that clip is online! The clip features Hera, Kanan, and Chopper, in a space battle with some TIE fighters in the Ghost, and gives us a great look at what we can expect the action to look like in the series!

I think the animation and action looks great in this clip, and I just can’t wait to see more from this series, as it definitely feels like classic Star Wars!

First Look At The Covers For Some Star Wars Rebels Tie-In Books

The guys over at the Rebels Report were able to get the images of the covers for some of the ‘Star Wars Rebels” tie-in books being published by Disney. There are five books revealed in these images titled, “Ezra’s Gamble”, “Rise of the Rebels”, “Zeb to the Rescue”, “Chopper Saves The Day”, and  “A New Hero”. The books are designed for young readers, and some have specific content like “Chopper Saves The Day” being a sticker book, and “A New Hero” also being an eBook. You can check out the covers of these books below, where one of them features a familiar character returning.

While we’ve seen most of these images before, the most interesting cover is of course the one for “Ezra’s Gamble,” which has Bossk standing right beside Ezra, and is his model from “The Clone Wars.” While this doesn’t necessarily  mean Bossk will be showing up on Rebels, the book has definitely caught my interest of how Ezra crosses paths with Bossk, and if the story will one day play into a future episode of the series.

Vanessa Marshall To Attend The Star Wars Rebels Panel At WonderCon

It has just been announced that voice actress Vanessa Marshall, who will be playing the Twi’lek Hera on Star Wars Rebels, will be attending Wondercon this weekend for the “Behind the Scenes of Star Wars Rebels” panel. She will be joining Dave Filoni at the panel, but is so far the only announced voice actor from the series who is confirmed to attend. Here is the official announcement of her appearance from the official Star Wars Blog:

WonderCon is back at the Anaheim Convention Center this weekend, but now with 100% more ace Twi’lek pilots: Vanessa Marshall, voice of Hera on Lucasfilm’s upcoming animated series, will be joining Dave Filoni on his special “Behind the Scenes of Star Wars Rebels” panel. Hera is the steel-willed captain of the Ghost starship, and the heart of the show’s fledgling group of Rebels. Like the rest of the team, she has her own reasons for wanting to fight the Empire; uncovering those reasons will be part of the journey of Star Wars Rebels. “Every time we get a script,” said Marshall in the character’s introductory video, “I am breathless with anticipation. I cannot wait to read what’s next because I want to see where we’re going, too.”

On Star Wars Day May the 4th during the ABC TV Event, Disney will be hosting a dinner and reveal a sneak peak of Star Wars Rebels.

Exclusive invites were sent out to bloggers (not us unfortunately) to join Disney and ABC at a Red Carpet Tailgate between May 4th – May 7th in LA for the premiere of Disney’s Million Dollar Arm, a live taping of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, meet and greet of several cast and crew of ABC productions, and the dinner for Star Wars Rebels to celebrate Star Wars Day.

Hopefully the sneak peak footage will be available online not too long after the event, but we’ll be sure to keep you covered and bring you all the news and information that happens during the event here at the Rebels Podcast!

Members of the cast and crew of Star Wars Rebels present an exclusive look at the highly anticipated television series. Produced by Lucasfilm Animation and featuring many of the key talents from the Emmy Award-winning Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels is scheduled to premiere this fall as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel; it will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.

    Saturday April 19, 2014 2:00pm – 3:00pm

Star Wars Rebels Section Added To StarWars.com

It’s been pretty quiet on the Star Wars Rebels news lately, but that’s surely to change within the next couple of months, and the place that will no doubt be breaking a lot of “Star Wars Rebels” newa will be StarWars.com, which has now officially added a “Star Wars Rebels” section to the site.

Right now the “Star Wars Rebels” section just has the character introduction videos that were revealed last month, along with the previous behind the scenes interviews with Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman, but there is also a cool new image at the top of the site that shows the Ghost being chased by a Star Destroyer and some TIE fighters.  No doubt more content will be added to the site once the series get’s closer to it’s premiere, and hopefully once it starts airing, will be the place to go for official episode guides and video commentaries much like “The Clone Wars” site had.

You can check out the site in the following link:
