    Star Wars Rebels
Empire Stage 1-E at 5:45pm on Saturday, October 11

The Rebellion has begun! With the premiere of Star Wars Rebels on Disney Channel last week and new episodes about to launch on Disney XD, a previously unexplored era in the Star Wars universe has finally been opened to reveal the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance against the Empire. While you’ve met the crew of the Ghost, there are hints that hero Ezra Bridger will soon be entering the larger world of the Force. Additionally, the crew–and Jedi Kanan in particular–has drawn the attention of the Inquisitor, who’s been charged by the Empire to hunt down any Jedi Knights who escaped Order 66. Explore these topics and get a behind-the-scenes peek at the voice recording sessions of Star Wars Rebels when you join series Star Vanessa Marshall (“Hera”) and Lucasfilm’s Pablo Hidalgo for an exclusive preview of what’s to come in the first season of the series from Lucasfilm Animation.

We’ll be sure to bring you all the new details regarding “Star Wars Rebels” that come out of this year’s New York Comic Con, so stay tuned!

Simon Kinberg Talks About Star Wars Rebels Connecting With Episode VII

We know that Lucasfilm is working closer together than ever before with all their different Star Wars projects coming out in the future, but know we have gotten our first official word that we may be seeing some of that close synergy with Episode VII and “Star Wars Rebels.” Entertainment Weekly has posted a new article today, where they exclusively learned from Executive Producer Simon Kinberg that we can expect to see some elements of Episode VII make their way into “Star Wars Rebels” first. Here is what Simon Kinberg had to say about that in the Entertainment Weekly article:
    [blockquote cite=]

“It’s a very integrated process, there’s real communication between all the filmmakers because we’re all part of a larger timeline. There is absolutely communication and integration between the different stories. We are very aware of what they’re doing in VII, and we also have to click into place with Episode IV.”

“There are characters, vehicles, imagery that are introduced in the show before we’ve ever seen them in the movies, possibly including VII.

    [/blockquote]

It’s definitely been speculated by fans for awhile that “Star Wars Rebels” may have some type of direct connection to Episode VII, but it’s definitely great to hear if from an official source that that will  indeed be the case. But in regards to how big or small those connections will be, we’ll just have to wait and see, and continue to speculate until December 18th 2015! But until then, you can check out some cool new “Star Wars Rebels” images from Entertainment Weekly.

    Episode 104, “Droids in Distress”

With the Rebels running out of money, they decide to take on another job for Vizago. They fly to Garell to steal a few crates full of illegal weapons and deliver them to him, but then Zeb finds out that these weapons are actually T7 ion disruptors, the same kind that the Empire used to displace and almost extinguish his people. Dismayed, he tries to dissuade Kanan from completing the job.

    Episode 105, “Fighter Flight”

Ezra and Zeb are arguing constantly. In order to get them to make up, Hera takes them to Kothal to buy a fruit called Meiloorun. After a few setbacks, they finally manage to locate a crate of Meilooruns only to find that the Empire has just purchased it. Ezra immediately tries to steal a few Meilooruns but this then leads to a fight against the stormtroopers.
