Anthony Daniels at Star Wars Celebration VI!

Earlier today it was officially announced that Anthony Daniels will be appearing at Star Wars Celebration VI in Orlando, Florida, August 23rd-26th. This comes as no surprise, as Daniels is a staple at events such as Celebration and Fan Days. Here’s what it says on the official Celebration website:

Best known for: Actor Behind C-3PO, Entertainer and Host of Star Wars: In Concert

Appearing On: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

The star behind C-3PO in all six Star Wars feature films, as well as the animated incarnations of everyone’s favorite protocol droid seen in Droids and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Anthony Daniels, will be a special guest at Star Wars Celebration VI. At the biggest party in the galaxy from August 23-26, 2012 in Orlando, Florida, Daniels is slated to sign autographs all four days of the show, as well as appear on stage.

Daniels has been a headlining star at all six Star Wars Celebrations as well as Celebration Europe and Celebration Japan, bringing with him his inimitable stage presence and gift as a raconteur. Daniels has been part of the Star Wars saga from the very start, when George Lucas cast him in the role of C-3PO in 1975. From his first sight of Ralph McQuarrie’s breathtaking illustration of a golden droid standing in the desert, Daniels fell in love with the character. As C-3PO, Daniels brought life, endearing humanity, and hapless humor to the droid, creating a world renowned movie character. He has played C-3PO across multiple media, from radio dramas to museum tours to theme park rides to breakfast cereal commercials.

Poor C-3PO missed the mark when he said, “I’m not one for telling stories. Well, not for making them interesting.” Fluent in the most engaging forms of communication, Daniels will spin golden yarns from the making of the films, as well as his 35-year history with Star Wars, including serving as the narrator and of the Star Wars: In Concertseries.

Daniels is a veteran stage performer, starting his career with the BBC Radio Drama Company in London. He went on to join the UK National Theatre at the Young Vic. The actor’s singular wit, entertaining style and in-depth familiarity with the Star Wars phenomenon will make his appearance at Celebration VI one that cannot be missed.

New Clone Wars Season 5 Info!

Some Clone Wars season 5 info has emerged online today from a photo of a scanned page from the upcoming issue of Star Wars Insider #134.

    • Below is the new information about season 5 that was revealed in the scanned Insider page:
    • We’ll be seeing the planet Onderon, which is a planet from the “Tales of the Jedi” comic series.
    • The criminal organization Black Sun will make it’s debut in Season 5. Will we maybe see the rise see Prince Xizor in some episodes?
    • Dave Filoni says “R2-D2 will have his biggest adventure yet”, and his “biggest contribution to the war effort.”
    • Embo will return and see some action, along with his new sidekick Marrok.
    • Dave Filoni also says that “Some of the characters that we have created for the show will meet their destinies.”

Some interesting stuff. While I’m Curious to see how Black Sun will be handled in the show, the thing that caught my interest the most from this info, was Dave Filoni’s quote about some characters meeting their destinies. While I don’t think Ashoka we’ll meet her destiny in season 5, it does make me wonder if we’ll see the fate of Rex this season. While season 5 is still a few months away, this kind of information is enough to get me excited for the upcoming season!

    About “Hughes the Force”

Hughes the Force is a35-minute short film tribute to Star Wars and John Hughes. People from around the world grew up with or can identify with the characters and stories of John Hughes’ movies (The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Ferris Bueller, etc.). Similarly, Star Wars is more than a mere film franchise, it has become an integral part of our culture for the past 30+ years.

Simon and Henry, two teens tortured by jocks and rejected by girls, are invited to the epic end of the year high school party, but there’s a catch. In order to get in, they need to bring just one hot girl. Unable to attract any female attention, they decide to take matters into their own hands and create the perfect woman from Simon’s prized Slave Leia action figure. Armed with a fully operational lightsaber and blaster, the two set out with their self-appointed mentor to do what they have never done before: fit in. On their journey, they encounter stormtroopers, aliens, Obi-wan Kenobi, Padme, a Dark Lord of the Sith, and even Director Kevin Smith in the most unlikely of places. But even with the Force as their ally, some things are not meant to be…

Celebrity Cameo Appearances in the film include:

Seth Green and Matt Senreich at Celebration VI!

The twisted masterminds behind Robot Chicken — Seth Green and Matthew Senreich — will be attending Star Wars Celebration VI this August 23-26, 2012, in Orlando, Florida as special guests. Star Wars fans from the very beginning, Seth and Matt have been honored guests of past Celebrations since their hilarious Robot Chicken show moved beyond just the occasionalStar Wars sketch to full-fledged specials showcasing the hilarious side of a galaxy far, far away. Three Robot Chicken: Star Wars specials later, they’re still mining the saga for comedy gold, including working as consultants for the team developing a new animated Star Warsseries at Lucasfilm Animation.

Green and Senreich are co-executive producers, creators, writers and directors on Robot Chicken, which for over 100 episodes and five seasons on Adult Swim has used stop-motion incarnations of pop culture’s greatest heroes and villains — as well as celebrity guest voices — to create award-winning comedy sketches. Their production company, Stoopid Monkey, is hard at work on the sixth season of Robot Chicken as well as a new special. Along with their partner Joe Kavanagh, the duo are producing original stop-motion animation on their YouTube channel, youtube.com/StoopidMonkey. Other productions from Green and Senreich include the online reality show controltv.com, and Titan Maximum.

In addition to providing upwards of 35-60 voices on Robot Chicken each week, Green’s voice can be heard in Family Guy, and he can be seen in such upcoming movies as Sexy Evil Genius, and The Story of Luke. Starring in films since he was eight, Green is known for roles in The Italian JobWithout a PaddleParty Monster, the Austin Powers films, Rat RaceRadio Days, on television in Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Greg the Bunny, and in videogames in the Mass Effect series.

Senreich began his entertainment career at age 16, interning for Marvel Comics. He was editor of ToyFare magazine at Wizard Entertainment before becoming editorial director of all the Wizard titles. Collaborating with Green inToyFare magazine led to the creation of animated online shorts, paving the way towards Robot Chicken. Senreich is currently writing/producing/shooting an animated pilot for Fox called Mt. Pleasant.

Both Green and Senreich are well known in the Star Wars fan community, and both have made appearances in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Always entertaining and unpredictable, Seth and Matt’s appearances at the Main Stage of Star Wars: Celebration VI will be a must-see.
