Third Wave of Celebration VI Artwork Revealed

StarWars.com has revealed the third wave of Celebration VI artwork today, and much like the previous two waves revealed, this third batch has some really cool artwork. In this third batch, my favorite is definitely Breaking Ground: Imperial Base, Moon of Endor by long time Star Wars artist Dave Dorman. Another cool one is a Han Solo/Indiana Jones mash up titled: Scoundrels, by artist William O’Neill.

Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures Arrives On Blu-Ray For The FIrst Time

The first details for INDIANA JONES: THE COMPLETE ADVENTURES Blue-Ray  box set have been announced! Here are the official details from Lucasfilm:

ON SEPTEMBER 18th, THE MAN WITH THE HAT COMES HOME
    LOOKING BETTER THAN EVER

INDIANA JONES: THE COMPLETE ADVENTURES ARRIVES ON BLU-RAY™ FOR THE FIRST TIME, COMPLETELY REMASTERED AND INCLUDING A METICULOUSLY RESTORED VERSION OF RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (June 26, 2012) – In June of 1981 director Steven Spielberg and executive producer George Lucas introduced  the world to Indiana Jones when the unforgettable Raiders of the Lost Ark debuted in theaters. Exploding to instant acclaim, the film has now been carefully restored, alongside remastered versions of the archaeologist’s other thrilling adventures—Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.  Prepare for excitement, adventure and snakes—why did it have to be snakes?—all with pristine picture and sound when INDIANA JONES: The Complete Adventures debuts on Blu-ray September 18, 2012 from Lucasfilm Ltd. and Paramount Home Media Distribution.

Supervised by director Steven Spielberg and renowned sound designer Ben Burtt, Raiders of the Lost Ark has been meticulously restored with careful attention to preserving the original look, sound and feel of the iconic film.  The original negative was first scanned at 4K and then examined frame-by-frame so that any damage could be repaired.

The sound design was similarly preserved using Burtt’s original master mix, which had been archived and unused since 1981.  New stereo surrounds were created using the original music tracks and original effects recorded in stereo but used previously only in mono.  In addition, the sub bass was redone entirely up to modern specifications and care was taken to improve dialogue and correct small technical flaws to create the most complete and highest quality version of the sound possible while retaining the director’s vision.  The result is an impeccable digital restoration that celebrates the film and its place in cinematic history.

The installments in the franchise have won a combined seven Academy Awards®. Relive every heart-pounding thrill like never before as all four films arrive together, for the first time presented in 1080p high definition with English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio accompanied by a collection of documentaries, interviews, featurettes

    and new bonus features.

    Kevin Smith at Celebration VI!

Writer/Director and all-around Star Wars geek, Kevin Smith will be appearing at Star Wars Celebration VI at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida on April 23rd for a special “Evening with Kevin Smith”. Smith’s films have included a myriad of references to the Star Wars Saga. From Clerks to Zack and Miri, they’re littered with jokes, conversations and gags revolving around his childhood love of Star Wars. His “Evening with Kevin Smith” series of Q&A’s and the SModcast series of podcasts have become quite popular, particularly in the fan community, so these tickets might get a little scarce. Details on pricing and showtime can be found below.

Star Wars Celebration’s “Evening with Kevin Smith” begins at 7:00 p.m. on August 23rd and is a separate, ticketed event from the rest of Star Wars Celebration VI.  Tickets go on sale on Monday, June 25th to current Star WarsCelebration attendees and July 2nd for the general public.  Tickets begin at only $15 and go up to a limited $75 package, which includes a signed Kevin Smith photo.  Tickets are free to Celebration VIPs who have purchased Jedi Knight and Jedi Master ticket packages. Second Wave of Celebration VI Artwork Revealed

StarWars.com has revealed the second batch of artist and their great artwork to be at Celebration VI. There are some more great pieces in this second batch, with two of my favorites being: A Fan’s Hope, Naam’s Huttese Theater, Tatooine by artist Jeff Carlisle, where if you look closely, you can spot George Lucas, Dave Filoni, and other people Star Wars fans might recognize. And Torment, by artist Brent Woodside, which I think is great depiction of Vader.

For a look at the rest of the artwork revealed in this second wave, and information on the artist behind them, you can check them out at

Temuera Morrison To Appear At Celebration VI

Temuera Morrison, the actor who played Jango Fett, Commander Cody, and a bunch of the Clones, is another one of the great Star Wars actors who will be attending Celebration VI this coming August. He will be greeting fans and signing autographs in the Official Pix Autograph Hall.

I loved Temuera Morrison performances in the movies, and he would be a cool autograph to get, as he’s one of the few Star Wars actors who can sign pictures of a bunch of different characters. Not only can he sign some Jango Fett pictures, but also any picture of your favorite Clone Trooper from Attack of the Clones, or Revenge of the Sith!

    First Celebration VI Artwork Revealed

One of the things I always look forward to with all the Star Wars Celebrations, is the great new artwork that gets shown by some great Star Wars artist. You can check out the first 10 pieces of art here at StarWars.com

I have to say my favorite out of the 10 pieces revealed so far is the Return Of The Jedi piece by Jerry Vanderstelt, who has done some amazing Star Wars art in the past. Looking forward to seeing the next batch of art that gets revealed.
